Abstract: A method is described in which a partial three-dimensional model of an object is constructed in dependence on abstract geometry data. The abstract geometry data is indicative of an incomplete description of the object. The abstract geometry data comprises an indication of at least one geometric shape of the object and a design parameter associated with the at least one geometric shape. The partial three-dimensional model is aligned with three-dimensional scan data of an instance of the object. Based on the alignment, the pose of the at least one geometric shape is identified in the three-dimensional scan data. The pose of the geometric shape and the associated design parameter are used to derive metrology data for the instance of the object from the three-dimensional scan data.

Abstract: In examples, an electronic device comprises a first speaker port, a second speaker port, and storage comprising a first port attribute corresponding to the first speaker port and a second port attribute corresponding to the second speaker port. The storage comprises executable code. The electronic device comprises a processor coupled to the first and second speaker ports and the storage. The processor, upon executing the executable code, is to collect ambient noise data using a first speaker corresponding to the first speaker port in response to the first port attribute indicating that the first speaker is to be used as a microphone and the second port attribute indicating that a second speaker corresponding to the second speaker port is to be used as a speaker. The processor is to modify an audio output signal using the ambient noise data collected using the first speaker. The processor is to provide the modified audio output signal to the second speaker port.

Abstract: Examples of the present disclosure relate to a calibration method for a printing system. The method comprises printing a diagnostic pattern representative of decap time. The diagnostic pattern comprises the firing of nozzles after an exposure to ambient air during a first predetermined time period to produce a first pattern element and the firing of nozzles after an exposure to ambient air during a second predetermined time period to produce a second pattern element. The method includes scanning the resulting diagnostic pattern with a sensor to collect decap data in a digital form, digitally analyzing the decap data, the digital analysis comprising identifying a quantitative difference between the first and second pattern elements, and modifying a servicing process of the printing system if the quantitative difference passes a predetermined threshold.

Abstract: A method of printing is disclosed. The printing may involve printing on a printable medium using a print head having a plurality of nozzles, the printable medium having a leading edge and a defined zone adjacent to the leading edge. The print head may be to deposit print agent onto the printable medium via the plurality of nozzles during successive printing passes. The method may comprise: during a first printing pass, depositing print agent from a subset of the plurality of nozzles onto the printable medium outside the defined zone. The method may further comprise: advancing the printable medium by a defined distance. The method may further comprise: during a second printing pass, depositing print agent from a subset of the plurality of nozzles onto the printable medium within the defined zone

Abstract: A device (2) includes a media roll (4) to output a print medium (M) in a forward direction (26) and a wiper roll (6) to contact the surface of the print medium (M) at a rotation speed to cause friction on the print medium (M). The device (2) may determine a radius (r2) of the media roll (4) outputting the print medium (M) and, based on this radius (r2), adapt parameters such as the rotation speed of the wiper roll and a back tension (T2) exerted by the media roll (4) on the print medium (M) so as to control the friction caused by the wiper roll (6) on the print medium (M).
