The invention relates to a capacitive proximity sensor, comprising - a first sensor electrodeE1 and a second sensor electrode E2, a signal generator E1,E2 for providing a first and a second electric alternating signal, - a first load element L which comprises a first and a second electric load, in which the first alternating signal by means of the first load can be fed to the first sensor electrode and the second alternating signal by means of the second load to the second sensor electrode, and wherein the electric loads each together with the capacitive load to be measured at the respective sensor electrode form a lowpass filter, and - a signal processing device A which is coupled with the first sensor electrode and with the second sensor electrode, and which is adapted to form a first measurement value from the push-pull portion of a first electric parameter tapped at the first sensor electrode and a second electric parameter tapped at the second sensor electrode. An electrode device for a capacitive sensor device and a circuit arrangement for a capacitive sensor device for the operation of an electrode device according to the invention are provided, wherein the electrode device comprises a first electrode structure with at least one transmitting electrode and at least one receiving electrode, and a second electrode structure with at least one field sensing electrode, wherein the electrode device or the capacitive sensor device can be operated in a first operation mode and in a second operation mode. In addition a method is provided for approach and/or touch detection with a sensor device according to the invention.

The invention relates to a system and a method for generating control signals by way of gestures, especially hand and/or finger gestures which are made by a user relative a detection device. The aim of the invention is to find solutions allowing a reliable detection and interpretation of gestures using as little hardware as possible and reliably processing a broad scope of input gestures. According to a first embodiment of the invention, this aim is achieved by a method for carrying out the signal processing of input signals that are generated as such by hand gestures that are made by a user relative a detection device and that correlate with the spatial movement of the hand or the fingers thereof, the input signals being generated or transformed in such a manner as to represent transfer signals the frequency band of which comprises the frequency band of audio signals accessible to a speech recognition system. The hand gestures are interpreted via the speech recognition system using said transfer signals.

The invention relates to a mobile communication device and an input device provided for operating said communication device by means of which input operations necessary for using the communication device may be carried out. The aim of the invention is to provide solutions by means of which it is possible, in particular for relatively compact mobile electronic devices, in particular communication devices and digital cameras to carry out said input operations in a manner which is particularly easy to coordinate for the user. According to a first aspect of the invention, the above is achieved by means of a mobile communication device with a housing arrangement which is designed to be held in one hand, a display device, included in the housing arrangement to provide an image reproduction surface, a control device for controlling the display device such that in an input mode the above provides an input graphic, which supports the carrying out of an input process and an input device for carrying out the input process according to input processes of a manual type, wherein said device is characterised in that the input device is designed such that an input zone is provided in a region apart from the display device on an operative manipulation of the device, within which input operations can be carried out by a user, wherein the user carries out control actions with his free hand with relation to the housing device without, in the process, touching the display device or the commmunication device with this hand.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transferring signals, especially within a relatively narrowly limited range of a user of said technology. The aim of the invention is to allow users of mobile communication devices, particularly WLAN/BLUETOOTH-compatible mobile phones, to receive data, the reception of which with great probability corresponds to user requirements. According to a first embodiment of the invention, said aim is achieved by a communication system comprising at least one telecommunication device that is to be carried by the user and is fitted with a transmitter, a receiver, and a display unit for representing an image generated from signals received via the receiver. The transmitter is operated in such a way as to transmit, at least during some phases, a signal sequence that is specific to the telecommunication device. Said communication system further comprises a detection device for detecting, within a detection range, the intensity of a transmission signal emitted by the transmitter. Based on the signal intensity determined by the detection unit, it is determined whether a distance criterion is met between the user's current location and the place where the detection device is located, and data transmission to the telecommunication device to be carried by the user is initiated if said distance criterion is met.

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf ein Spielzeug in der Art einer Puppe oder eines Stofftieres die bzw. das als solches mit einer Einrichtung zur Ausgabe von Klangeffekten, insbesondere zur Sprach- und/oder Tierlautausgabe ausgestattet ist. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, Lösungen aufzuzeigen, durch welche Spielzeug in der Art von Puppen Tieren, oder Phantasiewesen geschaffen werden kann, bei welchem insbesondere die Sprach- oder Klangwiedergabe sowie die Interaktionen zwischen dem Spielzeug und einem Anwender gegenüber bisherigem Spielzeug dieser Art als weniger monoton erscheint und in engerer Nähe zu realitätstypischen Interaktionsmustern abgewickelt werden können. The invention relates to a sensor apparatus and a method for generating electronic signals that are indicative of a spatial position and/or the movement of limbs, especially a user's hand relative to the sensor apparatus. Said electronic signals can then be used for carrying out input processes in data processing devices, communication devices, and other electrical devices. The aim of the invention is to find ways to generate, in a particularly advantageous manner, signals that are indicative of the position and/or the movement of limbs. Said aim is achieved by a sensor apparatus for generating electrical signals that are indicative of the position or movement of limbs relative to a reference area. Said sensor apparatus comprises a transmitter electrode device, a voltage generator for applying an alternating voltage to the transmitter electrode, a first receiver electrode device, a second receiver electrode device, and a third receiver electrode device. The first, the second, and the third receiver electrode device are each connected to high-resistance tapping systems. Preferably, the first, the second, and the third receiver electrode device are each connected to high-resistance inputs of an impedance transformer system. The data indicative of a location or movement is obtained on the basis of differences between the electrical events applied to the outputs of the respective impedance transformer.

Die Erfindung richtet sich auf ein Verfahren und eine Vorrichtung zur Bewerkstelligung eines Signaltransfers, insbesondere in einem relativ eng umgrenzten Bereich eines Anwenders dieser Technik. Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, Lösungen zu schaffen, durch welche es möglich wird, Anwendern von mobilen Kommunikationsgeräten, insbesondere Anwendern von WLAN/BLUETOOTH-fähigen Mobiltelefonen Daten zukommen zu lassen deren Empfang mit hoher Wahrscheinlichkeit anwenderseitigen Anforderungen entspricht. Diese Aufgabe wird gemäß einem ersten Aspekt der Erfindung gelöst durch ein Kommunikationssystem umfassend: - wenigstens ein anwenderseitig zu führendes Telekommunikationsgerät das eine Sendeeinrichtung und eine Empfangseinrichtung, sowie eine Displayeinrichtung umfasst, zur Wiedergabe eines aus Signalen die über die Empfangseinrichtung empfangen wurden, generierten Bildes, wobei die Sendeeinrichtung derart betrieben wird, dass diese zumindest phasenweise eine Signalsequenz übermittelt die für das Telekommunikationsgerät spezifisch ist, und eine Detektionseinrichtung, zur Erfassung der Intensität eines seitens der Sendeeinrichtung emittierten Sendesignals innerhalb eines Erfassungsbereiches, - wobei anhand der durch die Detektionseinrichtung ermittelten Signalintensität beurteilt wird, ob zwischen dem Aufenthaltsort des Anwenders und dem Anordnungsort der Detektionseinrichtung ein Abstandskriterium erfüllt ist, und - wobei in Abhängigkeit von der Erfüllung dieses Abstandskriteriums eine Datenübertragung zu dem anwenderseitig zu führenden Telekommunikationsgerät veranlasst wird.
