Abstract:
A method for measuring an infrared signature of a moving target includes: tracking the moving target with a tracking system along a path from a start position to an end position, measuring infrared radiation data of the moving target along the path, repositioning the tracking system to the start position, retracing the path to measure the infrared radiation data of the background, and determining the infrared signature of the moving target by comparing the infrared radiation data of the moving object with the infrared radiation data of the background without the moving object.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for forming keystones using a collapsible framework and a fabric container, the fabric container (3) having means for reversibly attaching the container (3) to the framework (1).
Abstract:
A honeycomb structure (Fig. 4) mounted on a back panel (Fig. 5) especially on a vehicle, where the honeycomb structures are filled with an infrared absorbing material (Fig. 2) to reduce the radar and heat signature of a vehicle.
Abstract:
An electrode array (10) for intracochlear insertion, having a terminal curved portion (18) and a straight portion (16), the curved portion having between one and two turns. Optionally included are an angled portion (21) and a flange (22) to facilitate insertion.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to immobilization compounds, immobilization products and preparations thereof as well as methods and uses for the identification of histone demethylase interacting compounds or for the purification or identification of histone demethylase proteins.
Abstract:
A soft robotic device includes a flexible body having a width, a length and a thickness, wherein the thickness is at least 1 mm, the flexible body having at least one channel disposed within the flexible body, the channel defined by upper, lower and side walls, wherein at least one wall is strain limiting; and a pressurizing inlet in fluid communication with the at least one channel, the at least one channel positioned and arranged such that the wall opposite the strain limiting wall preferentially expands when the soft robotic device is pressurized through the inlet.
Abstract:
Method and Apparatus for fabricating a spacer frame for use in an insulating glass unit. A spacer frame separates spaced apart window panes in an insulating glass unit for use in fabricating a window. The spacer includes an elongated frame that is bent into a multi-sided closed form having outwardly facing surfaces for supporting the spaced window panes. An intermediate or bridging body portion of the frame transmits heat between the spaced window panes. Thermal interruptions in this intermediate body portion disrupt heat flow to raise the inside window temperature in winter and lower it in summer. This is referred to as the warm edge value. A thermal insulating film material preferably covers at least a portion of the intermediate body portion and covers the thermal interruptions.
Abstract:
A mobile station including a cover assembly and a wireless telecommunications signal receiving and generating assembly. Included in the cover assembly is a belt that substantially extends around the signal receiving and generating assembly, and a connector to hold the belt closed about the signal receiving and generating assembly. The belt includes a pair of side edges which define side openings through which the signal receiving assembly can be accessed. Advantageously, the belt is easily exchanged with other belts so as to vary the appearance of the mobile station. Further, the side edges are easily gripped by a user holding the mobile station. In another aspect, the belt includes an integrated key pad which overlies a plurality of key contacts of the signal receiving and generating assembly.

Abstract:
A device for allowing rapid towing of a disabled military vehicle without requiring manual connection of a tow bar is disclosed. A “snatch block” molded from a high-strength plastic material is attached to the front bumper of a humvee or other similar military vehicle. The snatch block is equipped with teeth that are adapted to catch on the rear bumper of another vehicle. When the vehicle becomes disabled, another vehicle may tow the disabled vehicle by backing into the bumper of the disabled vehicle, where the snatch block is installed. This causes the snatch block to engage the rear bumper of the working vehicle such that the working vehicle may pull the disabled vehicle to a safe location. In an alternative embodiment, an upward-turned hook-shaped apparatus is mounted to the rear bumper of the rescuing vehicle. The apparatus is allowed some range of vertical mobility to allow the apparatus to slide under and catch the bumper of a disabled vehicle when the rescuing vehicle backs up in the direction of the disabled vehicle. The rescuing vehicle can then simply pull forward with the disabled vehicle being in tow.
