Abstract: A non−evaporation type getter which is excellent in gettering effect, can keep in a high vacuum state the interior of an air−tight vessel in a display unit especially a flat display unit, is easy to mount, and is not likely to contaminate the interior; a display unit provided with the getter; and production methods for them. The non−evaporation type getter (20) mainly contains at least any one element out of Ti, Zr, Al, V, Fe, and is provided with a compact formed by powder injection molding, the compact being composed of a porous element having a porosity of 10−30%.
