Abstract: A movable bed has a floor portion tiltable sideward, a tilting mechanism for tilting the floor portion sideward, and load applying means for applying a load that reduces the tilt of the floor portion when the tilt is within a range of predetermined angles when the floor portion is being tilted by the tilting mechanism. The load is applied so that a compressive load or tensile load that the tilting mechanism receives from the floor portion is not reversed to the other kind of the loads.
