Abstract: A process for producing an epoxytriazole derivative represented by the formula (2): (2) (wherein R represents hydrogen or C 1-12 alkyl and Ar represents an aromatic group optionally substituted by a halogen atom or trifluoromethyl group) which comprises the step of reacting an epoxy derivative represented by the formula (1'): (1') (wherein R and Ar have the same meanings as defined above and X' represents hydroxy or a leaving group) with 1,2,4-triazole in the presence of a base and water.
