Disclosed are prenatal and lactation supplements for pregnant women and lactating women, which include a combination of RRR-alpha-tocopherol, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), trans-lutein, phospholipids, and at least one nuclear receptor activating ligand other than RRR-alpha-tocopherol, DHA, and trans-lutein. The supplements may enhance central nervous system development in a fetus or breast-feeding newborn infant.
Abstract:
A nutritional supplement powder and a method of making the nutritional supplement powder are provided. The nutritional supplement powder includes from 20% by weight to 55% by weight protein, from 20% by weight to 50% by weight fructooligosaccharide powder, and an anti-caking mixture that includes calcium silicate and tricalcium phosphate. A weight ratio of the fructooligosaccharide powder to the anti-caking mixture is from 6: 1 to 10: 1.

A pediatric nutritional powder and methods of making and using the pediatric nutritional powder are provided. The pediatric nutritional powder includes at least one fruit powder, a carbohydrate system, vitamins, minerals, at least one anti-caking agent, and optionally at least one vegetable powder.

Powdered nutritional compositions that are readily dispersible in dairy products, such as milk and yogurt, are disclosed. The powdered nutritional compositions include powdered soluble fruit fiber, powdered insoluble fruit fiber, powdered soluble vegetable fiber, and powdered insoluble vegetable fiber in amounts that provide from 1/8 to 1/2 cup of serving fruit and from 1/8 to 1/2 cup of serving vegetable per serving of the powdered nutritional composition. The powdered nutritional composition may further comprise reconstitutable milk.
