Abstract: An EAS tag holder includes a first member and a second member are hinged together between open and closed positions. In one embodiment of the invention, the holder includes a pin that pierces a portion of the item of merchandise to lock the holder to the item of merchandise. In other embodiments, the holder clamps itself to the item of merchandise. The holder is removed from the merchandise by cutting the hinge of the holder and sliding the first and second member apart. In another embodiment of the invention, the first and second members of the holder are held together by locking fingers that may be released with a specially-designed key so that the holder may be reused. In another embodiment of the invention, the holder is opened with a key that breaks the locking fingers to release the members from each other.

Abstract: A lockable base for locking a rod assembly to a display board includes two portions which lock together. A pair of pivotable arms is mounted on one of the portions and pivot into a space between the display board and a hook of the rod assembly. The other portion includes a stop to prevent the arms from pivoting. Alternately, in a second lockable base, each portion thereof includes a pair of spaced rigid arms which slide into the space between the display board and hook. Alternately, a third lockable base is used with a rod assembly having a rod with a stop. One portion of the third base defines a slot for slidably receiving a portion of the rod between the display board and the stop on the rod. The one portion further includes a wall stepped inwardly from another wall and insertable in the interior chamber of the other portion.

Abstract: A disposable theft deterrent tag (10) includes first and second elements (20) (22) that lock together through a portion of an item (14) of merchandise to secure the tag (10) to the item (14) of merchandise. The first portion (20) of the tag (10) includes a first looking member (32) having opposed teeth (54) that are adapted to lockingly engage a second looking member (36) that is carried by the second element (22) of the tag (10). The tag (10) may be unlocked by moving the teeth (54) with respect to the post (60).
