Abstract: An image formation device includes a support to support movement of a substrate along a travel path, a fluid ejection device, and a belt. The fluid ejection device is located along the travel path to deposit droplets of ink particles within a liquid carrier onto the substrate to at least partially form an image on the substrate. The belt is a flexible belt located downstream along the travel path from the fluid ejection device and includes a contact portion to arcuately conform relative to, and be in movable contact against, a first arcuate portion of the substrate to at least partially remove the liquid carrier from the substrate.

Abstract: A device includes a media supply, a first portion, and a second portion. The media supply is to supply a media along a travel path and to which a ground element is to be electrically connected. The first portion along the travel path is to receive droplets of ink particles within a dielectric carrier fluid on the media to form at least a portion of an image on the media. The second portion is downstream along the travel path from the first portion and includes a charge generation portion to emit airborne charges to charge the ink particles to move, via attraction relative to the grounded media, through the received carrier fluid toward the media to become electrostatically fixed on the media.

Abstract: A digital microfluidic assembly includes an electrode control element, which includes an array of individually controllable electrodes supported on a first side of a substrate, a chamber sealed relative to an opposite second side of the substrate and a plurality of apertures. The apertures extend through, and between the respective first and second sides of, the substrate and in communication with the chamber. A support is to align a consumable microfluidic receptacle with the array of electrodes to receive charges on an anisotropic conductivity portion of the receptacle to induce electrowetting movement of a liquid droplet within the microfluidic receptacle. Upon application of negative pressure through the chamber and the apertures, the array of electrodes becomes releasably secured against the microfluidic receptacle.

Abstract: An image formation device includes at least one frame portion supporting at least one emitter to emit airborne charges, at least one radiation element to emit radiation, and a fluid ejection device to deposit droplets of ink particles within a non-aqueous fluid carrier onto a substrate. Upon relative movement between the at least one frame portion and the substrate, the emitted airborne charges are to electrostatically fix, and the at least one radiation element is to emit radiation to cause at least further fixation of, the deposited particles relative to the substrate.

Abstract: A device includes a first portion and a first charge source. The first portion is located along a travel path of a substrate and is to receive ink particles within a carrier fluid in a pattern onto the substrate to at least partially form an image. The first charge source is downstream along the travel path from the first portion and is to emit first polarity charges to charge the at least first color ink particles to move, via electrostatic attraction through the first carrier fluid, to become electrostatically fixed in the pattern relative to the substrate. Via the first charge source or a subsequent charge source, further emission of opposite second polarity charges are to maintain electrostatic fixation of the ink particles in the pattern relative to the substrate.

Abstract: An imaging device for a passive e-paper display includes an erasing head to emit ions in a first polarity followed by an opposite second polarity after a first time period. The passive e-paper display is mountable on a support in a spaced apart relationship relative to the erasing head and by which the emitted ions are receivable onto substantially the entire surface of the passive e-paper display. Relative movement occurs between the support and the erasing head at least some of the time during the emission of ions from the erasing head.
