Abstract: A method performed by a viewing device includes receiving a request for an operation to be performed by the viewing device. The request includes trigger criteria for performing the operation. The viewing device receives content from a content provider including content related metadata. A detection is made of a condition that the trigger criteria for the operation to be performed has been met. As a result, the viewing device performs the requested operation. The detection made be accomplished by the viewing device or by a service provider.

Abstract: In an embodiment, (e.g., first social interaction) data may be collected based on a consumed content or in anticipating with consuming an upcoming content. For example, the (e.g., first social interaction) data may be associated with a consumption of a media content on the content consumption device, wherein at least a part of the first social interaction data may be for transmission to other content consumption devices consuming the media content. A user profile may be established (e.g., generated) based on the collected (e.g., first social interaction) data and e.g., analyzed for preferences. For example, second (e.g., social interaction) data may be received. For example, the second (e.g., social interaction) data may be filtered based on the user profile; and the filtered second (e.g., social interaction) data may be displayed on the content consumption device or transmitted to at least one other content consumption device consuming the media content.

Abstract: A method includes receiving physiological responses of a user to a content item captured by at least one sensor during consumption of the content item. During consumption of the content item, the physiological responses of the user are compared with physiological responses of other users to the content item to obtain at least one response match. Based on at least one user rating of the content item corresponding to the at least one response match, a predicted user rating of the user is determined. A notification including the predicted user rating is provided to the user.

Abstract: A method performed by an electronic device includes forming a playback group of devices that can participate in a shared playback of the same digital content. A time to play the digital content selection on multiple user devices is scheduled. One or more notifications to the multiple user devices are sent. One notification may include the schedule to play the content selection. While playing the content selection, a level of satisfaction from the multiple user devices is collected and recorded. One or more content recommendations to the multiple user devices is sent. The content recommendations are based on the recorded content selection level of satisfaction indications.
