Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure relate to generating a notification that instructs a user equipment (UE) to perform a configured grant-small data transmission (CG-SDT) action to cause CG-SDT resources of the UE to be released. A base station generates a notification with an instruction to perform a CG-SDT action and communicates the notification to a UE. The UE receives the instruction and performs the CG-SDT action to release CG-SDT resources allocated to the UE while the UE is in an inactive state.
