Abstract: A valve body contains both a shut off valve (139) and a metering valve (132) in flow communication with one another, the shut off valve (139) and the metering valve (132) both being controlled by rotation of a crank pin (131) inside a keeper body (152) and driven by electric motor (111). The metering valve has a conical portion (132) with a groove (162) to allow a small flow even when the conical portion (132) is shut against its valve seat (135). Movement of the crank pin (131) from one position to another (through an arc of slightly less than 180 degrees) will cause either or both the shut off valve (139) and the metering valve (132) to open or close. The valve is designed for use in monitoring pressure, and controlling water supply in a household.

Abstract: A plumbing fitting includes a body portion 1 which is secured to a structure such as a wall framing in use by means of a mounting means 2. An inlet means 3 is linked to an outlet means 4 by means of an internal passage in the body portion. The inlet means is adapted to be secured to distributor pipework or hoses in use and the outlet means is adapted to be coupled to a flexible hose or a tap where it projects through a wall lining. The body portion 1 can slide within the mounting means 2, if sufficient force is used, so that after the coupling is made to an extended outlet means 4 the outlet means can be pushed back towards the wall structure to assist in the provision of a neat appearance.
