摘要： An outflow-purgable and adjustable emitter (1) is described for use in micro-irrigation systems. The emitter (1) comprises; a hollow body (2) defining a flow channel having a fluid inlet, which channel continues towards a fluid outflow in the form of a resilient slitted-aperture (10), which aperture provides a resistance to the flow of fluid from the body (2), the said body having one or more radially displaced projections (7) from the outer surface of the body and adjusting means (5) in mechanical association with the body and assembled to move relative to the body to selectively engage with the projections (7), and with said resilient slitted-aperture (10) also being selectively deformable. An end cap of otherwise similar construction convertible to such an emitter by provision of a slit is also described.

摘要： A moisture responsive device and a method of its use for example in an irrigation system are described. The device has generally domed or raised three dimensional moisture responsive structure comprising at least a moisture responsive formation of a first material (1) in association with a less moisture responsive formation of a second material (3), in that the first material (1) has a greater tendency to absorb moisture, and to increase in volume as a result, than the second material (3), so as to distort in use when wetted; and a flexibly elongate actuation member (5) of flexibly resilient material situated in close mechanical association with the second material (3) so that deformation of the moisture responsive structure in the presence of moisture, tends to distort the actuation member (5).

摘要： Flowable preparation occupies a space (7) within the body (1) between the discharge part (4) and a disc-shaped mass (8) of material inert to the flowable preparation. The mass (8) is seated on a piston (9) which has a thruster (13) engaging the other side of the piston. A compression spring (15) is housed between the thruster (13) and a closure (11). The force of the spring (15) can be released by removing a wing nut and being screwed at the other end into a screwed-threaded hole (17) in the thruster (13). A delivery arrangement for diffusing a flowable preparation into a wooden material can be closed-coupled to the discharge port (4). Comprising a flexible tubular member (21) inserted and sealed within a hole (40) in a material (41). A tee-adaptor (22) couples the discharge port (4) with the member (21) and the arms of the adaptor (22) permit a screw-driver to be inserted into the member (21) so as to seal the member (21) in the hole (40). After removal of the screw-driver a closure plug (25) is applied to prevent escape of the flowable preparation.

摘要： A moisture responsive device is described having a moisture responsive element comprising at least a moisture responsive formation of a first material in association with a less moisture responsive formation of a second material, in that the first material has a greater tendency to absorb moisture and to increase in volume as a result than the second material, the two formations being so mechanically arranged together that such swelling tends to cause mechanical deformation of the moisture responsive element; and an actuation member optionally of flexibly resilient material in mechanical association with the moisture responsive element so that distortion of the moisture responsive element in the presence of moisture tends to mechanically distort the actuation member and thereby cause the actuation member to change between at least a first functional state and a second functional state. A method of use, especially in irrigation control, is also described.

摘要： A flow control device adapted to be located in a vessel to control the level of a liquid therein is provided, comprising: a housing defining at least a primary chamber open towards a base portion to effect fluid communication in use with liquid in the said vessel and having a liquid supply aperture through an upper portion of the housing and a one way valve aperture letting into an upper portion of the chamber to allow the egress of air from the chamber but to restrict return flow; a float located within the primary chamber such as to rise and fall therein in use at least between a higher or up position and a lower or down position having a through bore therein for flow of liquid; a fluid conduit fluidly communicating between the liquid supply aperture and the through bore in the float so that the said liquid supply aperture, fluid conduit and through bore together constitute a fluid supply path within the chamber from outside and through the upper portion of the housing towards the base portion (and hence to the said vessel in use); wherein the fluid conduit comprises a flexible tube so configured as to describe an extended state with a substantially open through bore when the float is in the down position and to describe a kinked state with a substantially occluded through bore when the float is in the up position; and wherein the housing includes a lower apertured portion providing fluid communication into the primary chamber, the lower apertured portion opening externally approximate with but extending above a base level of the housing.

摘要： A liquid injector comprises an accumulator containing a liquid and a propellant gas, and a liquid delivery tube (10). The injector also comprises means between the tube (10) and the accumulator for affording restricted flow of liquid out of the injector and unrestricted flow into the injector. Two intersecting holes (35) and (36) are bored into the base of a telegraph pole (33) and the tube (10) is screwed into the hole (35). The hole (36) is closed off at (36), the installed injector is opened to inject liquid into the pole (33), and buried. Later the buried injector can be re-charged with liquid from the hole (37).
