Abstract:
A sole structure may include chambers and a transfer channel containing an electrorheological fluid. Electrodes may be positioned to create, in response to a voltage across the electrodes, an electrical field in at least a portion of the electrorheological fluid in the transfer channel. The sole structure may further include a controller including a processor and memory. At least one of the processor and memory may store instructions executable by the processor to perform operations that include maintaining the voltage across the electrodes at one or more flow-inhibiting levels at which flow of the electrorheological fluid the through the transfer channel is blocked, and that further include maintaining the voltage across the electrodes at one or more flow-enabling levels permitting flow of the electrorheological fluid through the transfer channel.

The bottom surface (1222, 222A, 222B, 222) opposes the inner surface (214A, 214B, 214C, 214, 407) to define a cavity (240A, 240B, 240C, 240) therebetween. The article of footwear (10A, 10B, I0C, 10) also includes a series (310) of pins (10B, 300A, 300B, 300, 310A, 310B, 310, 320A, 320B, 320, 330A, 330B, 330) each having a post (313) extending through corresponding ones of the series (310) of channels (400A, 400B, 400, 410, 420B, 420, 430A, 430B, 430) between a first end (311, 321, 331B, 331) and a second end (312, 322, 332B, 332). The first end (311, 321, 331B, 331) extends into the cavity (240A, 240B, 240C, 240) outward from the bottom surface (1222, 222A, 222B, 222) of the midsole (220A, 220B, 220) and the second end (312, 322, 332B, 332) extends into the interior void (102, 1252) outward from the footbed (1224, 224A, 224B, 224, 22A) of the midsole (220A, 220B, 220). The article of footwear (10A, 10B, I0C, 10) also includes a resilient member (250A, 250) that engages the first end (311, 321, 331B, 331) of each of the series (310) of pins (10B, 300A, 300B, 300, 310A, 310B, 310, 320A, 320B, 320, 330A, 330B, 330) and biases the series (310) of pins (10B, 300A, 300B, 300, 310A, 310B, 310, 320A, 320B, 320, 330A, 330B, 330) toward the interior void (102, 1252).
Abstract:
An orthotic device (10) for use with heeled, dress, flat or sport shoes, the device (10) comprising a body (25), a medial arch support (40) defined by a projection extending upwardly away from the body (25); and a valgus wedge (20) defined by a projection located at a lateral rear foot portion and/or a lateral forefoot portion of the body (25), the valgus wedge (20) being adapted to evert the foot and concentrate the support of the device (10) laterally.
Abstract:
An orthotic device (100) for insertion into footwear for correcting over pronation or supination of a foot is disclosed. The orthotic device (100) may include an insole (102) comprising an upper surface (112) and a lower surface (114). The upper surface (112) of the insole (102) may receive and support at least a portion of the foot. The orthotic device (100) also may include a removable angle insert (130) attachable to the lower surface (114) of the insole (102). The removable angle insert (130) may increase an angle about a side of the insole (102) to correct over pronation or supination of the foot.

Abstract:
An article of footwear includes a textile component. The textile component of the upper includes a textile element and a tensile element. The tensile element defines a first segment disposed on a first side of the upper. The first segment of the tensile element is configured to attach the securement device to the textile element on the first side of the upper. The tensile element further includes a second segment that is disposed proximate the lower portion of the upper on the second side. The second segment is fixed relative to the lower portion of the upper on the second side. The tensile element further includes an intermediate segment that extends continuously from the first segment, across the heel region, to the second segment.
Abstract:
The present invention is footwear having opposing wedge shaped configurations in the bottom of the front sole section and the back sole section which provide rotation of the front sole section and the back sole section in opposite directions when weight is applied. The present invention is also footwear convex shaped in the longitudinal direction with a split sole having opposing wedge shaped configurations in the bottom of the front sole section and the back sole section that provide rotation of the front sole section and the back sole section in opposite directions when weight is applied. The invention further includes footwear having at least one pair of wedges on the outsole which provide footwear having improved arch support. The invention is also footwear with a flexible, elastic, member between the front sole section and the back sole section of the sole.
