Abstract:
An apparatus comprises a plug to couple the apparatus to a display device, a first receptacle to receive a first media device containing image data for display on the display device and an imaging processor coupled to the plug and the first receptacle.
Abstract:
A camera system includes a video camera having a first mating mechanism defined on a bottom, planar surface of the video camera. A battery assembly contains an energy cell and a first surface of the battery assembly is releasably engageable with the mounting mechanism such that the battery assembly is suspended beneath the video camera, with the bottom, planar surface of the video camera in substantial contact with the first surface. A support apparatus having a second mating mechanism is also provided, the second mating mechanism releasably engaging a second surface of the battery assembly.
Abstract:
A portable document scanner that records both image and voice information, comprises a digital camera module (101) configured to capture document images, and a laser frame generator (106) configured to project a visible beam of light forming a laser frame (205) to indicate the corresponding field of view of the optical lens for framing a document (206) to be captured. A light source generated by a laser diode (202) is shaped by passing through a collimating optical element (203) and a diffractive optical element (204) which is configured to produce a visible laser frame for framing a document to be captured. The captured data is then stored in an internal memory of the scanner. A data connector (117) is permanently attached to the scanner body, which is used to connect the scanner directly into a receptacle on an external device (303) for accessing data. After the data connector has thus connected the scanner to the external device, the captured data can be transferred through the data connector from the internal memory of the scanner to the external device. The data connector can be either separately sheathed with a protective outer cap (301) to serve as an attachment to keychain; or separately integrated with a pen mechanism (400) to serve as a writing instrument when carried by user for daily use.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for provision to customers of display material without intervention by an attendant. It is known to dispense material to attendees and prospective customers at meetings, exhibitions, conferences and commodity or product shows of all kinds, in an anonymous fashion from unattended literature racks and the like. The material to be dispensed usually comprises brochures, pamphlets and other printed material describing the item of interest which attracted the potential customer or attendee. It is not always possible to have a human attendant present, and even if one or more attendants are present, it may not be possible to meet the instant needs of a large crowd. The present invention seeks to provide means whereby the needs of every individual can be met, whether or not a human attendant is present, whilst allowing the attendee the choice of remaining anonymous or not. In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a point of display document dispenser comprising: coupling means for accepting coupling of a portable electronic memory device to said point of display dispenser; detection means for detecting when a portable electronic memory device is coupled with said coupling means and providing output indicative thereof; and data transfer means, operative, on the condition that said detecting means has provided said output, to transfer an electronic copy of a document in an associated memory means to the portable memory device or to receive an identification address.
