Abstract: The present invention provides a fluid medium dispensing system (1) for dispensing a fluid medium stored under pressure. The system comprises a container (5) for storing the fluid medium under pressure, the container having a neck (10) that defines an opening (11). A valve cup (2) closes the opening (11) of the container (1) and supports a valve (6) for dispensing its contents. The valve cup (2) comprises a first part (14) that is located in the opening (11) and a second part (15) that covers a rim (12) of the neck (10). A locking ring (4) is secured to the valve cup (2) to retain it in position in the neck (10) of the container (5). During assembly of the system (1) the locking ring (4) is initially secured to the valve cup (3) in a first position wherein it surrounds the second part (15) of the valve cup (3). Thereafter, the locking ring (4) is movable from the first position into a second position wherein it is made fast to the valve cup (2) to retain the valve cup (2) in position during use of the system (1). Advantageously, the locking ring (4) is secured to the valve cup (2) in both its first and its second positions. Preferably also, the second part (15) of the valve cup (3) snap-fits around the rim (12) of the neck (10) of the container (5). Also provided do a valve cup assembly (2) comprise the valve cup (3) and the locking ring (4) and a method of assembling the fluid dispensing system (1).
