Abstract: A coated glass article includes a glass article comprising a glass having a surface. The surface has an adhesion promoting region comprising a nanostructure formed at the surface of the glass. The adhesion promoting region is constructed of materials that are the same as one or more constituents of a glass composition of the glass. The coated glass article further includes a coating disposed on the adhesion promoting region formed at the surface of the glass. The coating incudes one or more polymer coating materials. The adhesion promoting region improves adhesion of the coating to the glass while also eliminating the use of titania or other adhesion promoting compounds that can adversely affect the optical properties of the coatings.

Methods comprise disposing an etch mask over the first major surface of the foldable substrate before etching the foldable substrate. In aspects, the etch mask comprises a first polymer layer positioned between a first barrier layer and the first major surface. In aspects, the etch mask comprises a positive photoresist.

Abstract: A method of forming a glass ceramic substrate having a through-glass via can include treating at least a portion of a first major surface of a precursor glass substrate along a laser scan path with a source of laser energy to form a treated precursor glass substrate. The through-glass via has a predetermined shape and extends through the first major surface of the glass ceramic substrate and a second major surface of the glass ceramic substrate. The first major surface defines a first opening and the second major surface defining a second opening and a ratio of a waist diameter of the through-glass via, measured at a location between the first opening and the second opening, to a surface diameter of the through-glass via, measured at either the first opening of the second opening of the through-glass via is in a range of from about 30% to about 100%.

Abstract: The present invention relates to greenhouses designed for hot climate geographical zones and hot periods of a year in both hot and cold climate geographical zones. They are made with specific coated glass allowing a very high hemispherical transmittance, a very high PAR transmittance and a tunable hortiscatter, when requested. The glazing of the invention is avoiding a too high temperature increase the greenhouse thanks to a selectively high NIR reflectance and a high emissivity of glass to allow the heat to leave the greenhouse instead of being trapped as a result of typical low emissivity glasses. The glass is also characterized through a longest lasting performance thanks to its superior durability.
