Abstract: A gate valve includes a valve body, a flow bore which extends completely through the valve body, a gate cavity which extends partially through the valve body and intersects the flow bore, a bonnet which is mounted to the valve body over the gate cavity and includes a stem bore which extends axially therethrough and is connected to the gate cavity; a valve stem which is movably positioned in the stem bore; a gate which is connected to the second end of the valve stem and is movable by the valve stem between a closed position in which fluid flow through the flow bore is blocked and an open position in which fluid flow through the flow bore is permitted, and a bonnet seal assembly for sealing the stem bore against fluid pressure in the cavity. The bonnet seal assembly includes a generally cylindrical packing nut which is positioned in the stem bore around the valve stem.

Abstract: A bi-directional relief valve includes a cage (12) including a bore (32), a spool (14) located in the bore (32), and biasing means urging the spool towards a closed position. The cage further includes a first inlet/outlet port (50) and a second inlet/outlet port (52). Each port is connected with the bore. The bore includes a central section (38) having a first diameter and a reduced diameter section (42) having a second diameter, which is smaller than the first diameter. The spool is movable with respect to the cage within the bore. The spool includes a smaller diameter section (60) received in the reduced diameter section (42) of the bore and a larger diameter section (62) received within the central section (38) of the bore. The spool includes a passage (70) open to the first port (50) and a radial aperture (90) extending through the spool from the passage. The biasing means urges the spool towards the closed position where fluid flow is blocked through the radial aperture between the passage and the second port. When the biasing force of the biasing means is overcome, the spool moves toward an open position where the smaller diameter section of the spool moves toward the central section of the bore such that fluid flow is no longer blocked through the radial aperture between the passage and the second port.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an automatic valve device which controls fluid flow in a pipe. The automatic valve device of the present invention detects leakage of fluid or abnormal fluid flow. The automatic valve device, having a space therein, is open at a first end thereof and has at a second end thereof a fluid flow closing part, that is, a fluid shut-off valve. The automatic valve device includes a differential pressure detecting body which operates the shut-off valve and is expanded or contracted depending on outside pressure. Furthermore, the differential pressure detecting body communicates with an outlet of the valve device. Thus, when pressure of the outlet of the valve device is lower than that of an inlet, the differential pressure detecting body is contracted, thereby the shut-off valve is opened. Therefore, the present invention can determine whether fluid leakage occurs using the frequency that an amount of fluid greater than the volume of the differential pressure detecting body passes through the valve.
