    Abstract: The object of this invention is an antenna unit for product protection apparatuses, which has a carrying body (10) assembled from an enclosing piece (11) and a covering piece (12) partially surrounding the enclosing piece (11), where the covering piece (12) has two stem pieces (12a, 12c) and a bridging piece (12b) located between the connecting ends (12d, 12e) of the individual stem pieces (12a, 12c) and connecting them together, there is an angle of inclination (p) of 70 to 110° between the individual stem pieces (12a, 12c) and the bridging piece (12b), in addition it has a signal transmission element (20) made from a conductive material and located at least partly in the enclosing piece (11) of the carrying body (10) and a signal management part-unit (30) electrically connected to the signal transmission element (20), the signal transmission element (20) has at least a single loop- like shape with at least two sections (20a, 20b) at an angle (a) to each other that is not equal to 0°. The characteristic feature of the invention is that the covering piece (12) is made from a material that conducts electricity and there is a free opening (12h) between the free ends (12f, 12g) of the individual stem pieces (12a, 12c) opposite to the connecting ends (12d, 12e), and in this way the covering piece (12) forms a U-shape, and the free opening between (12h) the free ends (12f, 12g) of the stem pieces (12a, 12c) of the covering piece (12) is more distant from the base (2) supporting the antenna unit (1), while the bridging piece (12b) is closer to the base (2).

    Abstract: A method includes receiving data characterizing a signal obtained by a plurality of magnetic field receivers, the signal formed of a combination of a first magnetic field, a second magnetic field resulting from interaction of the first magnetic field and a first object, and a third signal resulting from motion of receivers within the first magnetic field and/or an external magnetic field other than the first magnetic field. The method also includes determining a component of the signal characterizing a contribution of the second magnetic field to the signal by multiplying the received data by a mapping that characterizes the contributions of the third signal to the signal to cancel the contributions of the third signal. The method further includes providing the determined component of the signal characterizing the contribution of the second field to the signal. Related systems and computer program products are also provided.

    Abstract: Example aspects include techniques for reducing false alarms caused by stray tags. These techniques may include determining, by a processor of an EAS system, a chatter score of a RFID identification of an RFID tag that generated a quantity of RFID readings above a predefined threshold at one or more RFID readers, and selecting, by the processor of the EAS system, the RFID identification based at least in part on the chatter score being below a chatter score threshold. In addition, the techniques may include determining, by the processor of the EAS system, that the RFID identification corresponds to a RFID tag in motion, and triggering, by the processor of the EAS system, an alarm based on a determination that the RFID tag identified by the RFID identification is not authorized to leave a controlled area associated with the one or more RFID readers.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to security tags for an electronic article surveillance system deployed in a retail environment. The security tag is a single piece security tag that comprises a tack housing and a tag housing connected by a beam. The beam is enabled to house one or more antenna elements that is electrically connected with one or more electronic components housed within the tag housing.     Abstract: RFID-based electronic surveillance article systems are provided with first and second receiving antennas. An RF signal is transmitted to an RFID device, which transmits a return signal that is received by the receiving antennas. A position of the RFID device may be determined based on a difference between the strength of the return signal when received by the first antenna and the strength of the return signal when received by the second antenna. If RF signals are transmitted by the receiving antennas, the position of the RFID device may be determined by changing the strengths of the RF signals transmitted by each antenna and comparing the strength of the RF signal transmitted by the first antenna when the RFID device is at a threshold for receiving the signal to the strength of the RF signal transmitted by the second antenna when the RFID device is at the threshold.
