    Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a method and an apparatus for video decoding. The apparatus includes processing circuitry that decodes prediction information of a current block in a current picture from a coded video bitstream. The prediction information indicates (i) an adaptive motion vector prediction (AMVP) mode with an adaptive motion vector resolution (AMVR) mode being applied to the current block and (ii) motion information. The processing circuitry performs template matching (TM) on a plurality of MV resolutions by determining respective TM costs corresponding to each of the plurality of MV resolutions based on the plurality of MV resolutions and the motion information, reordering the plurality of MV resolutions based on the determined TM costs respectively corresponding to each of the plurality of MV resolutions, and selecting an MV resolution from the reordered plurality of MV resolutions. The processing circuitry reconstructs the current block based on the selected MV resolution.

    Abstract: In a method, coded information of a current block in a current picture of a video is received from a coded video bitstream. The coded information indicates that the current block is partitioned into at least a first partition and a second partition based on a geometric partition mode (GPM). The first partition is associated with an intra block copy (IBC) prediction mode, and the second partition is associated with an intra prediction mode. Prediction mode information for a first subblock of a plurality of subblocks of the current block is stored. The prediction mode information includes one of a DC mode, a Planar mode, and an intra prediction mode based on whether the first subblock is associated with one of the IBC prediction mode, the intra prediction mode, and both the IBC prediction mode and the intra prediction mode.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution for video processing. A method for video processing is proposed. The method comprises: constructing, during a conversion between a target block of a video and a bitstream of the video, a list of motion candidates for motion information for the target block; determining a reordering scheme based at least in part on coding information, the reordering scheme indicating whether and/or how at least one motion candidate in the list of motion candidates is to be reordered; generating a target list of motion candidates from the list of motion candidates according to the reordering scheme; and deriving the motion information for the target block from the target list of motion candidates. Compared with the conventional solution, the proposed method can advantageously improve the coding effectiveness and coding efficiency.

    Abstract: A method of decoding is provided. The method includes receiving, by the video decoder, a video bitstream including a video parameter set (VPS) and a plurality of layers, where each layer is included in at least one output layer set (OLS) specified by the VPS; and decoding, by the video decoder, a picture from one of the plurality of layers. A method of encoding is also provided. The method of encoding includes generating, by the video encoder, a plurality of layers and a video parameter set (VPS) specifying one or more output layer sets (OLSs), wherein each layer from the plurality of layers is included in at least one of the OLSs specified by the VPS; encoding, by the video encoder, the plurality of layers and the VPS into a video bitstream; and storing, by the video encoder, the video bitstream for communication toward a video decoder.
