Abstract: Various embodiments herein disclose coordinating neighbor discovery between access points (APs) with auxiliary radios and APs without auxiliary radios. A corresponding wireless controller comprises a processor and a memory storing instructions that, when executed, cause the controller to perform operations. The operations comprise grouping APs into a first group of more flexible APs and a second group of less flexible APs and querying the second group of APs for a corresponding broadcast interval. The operations further comprise identifying when the second group of APs is scheduled to broadcast parameters, and a broadcast interval for each of the second group of APs and generating a schedule based on the scheduled broadcast and the broadcast interval for each of the second group of APs. The operations additionally comprise providing the generated schedule to the first group of APs and the second group of APs.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using UE cooperation. For example, a first UE may transmit an uplink signal indicating a request for the base station to transmit a UE discovery request signal to a second UE. In response to transmitting the uplink signal, the first UE may receive a sidelink signal from the second UE. The sidelink signal may indicate that the second UE may be available for a cooperative link with the first UE. In some cases, based on the sidelink signal, the first UE may establish the cooperative link with the second UE. In some examples, based on establishing the cooperative link, the first UE may receive downlink communications from the base station via at least sidelink communications from the second UE over the cooperative link.

Abstract: A base station transmits a Radio Resource Control (RRC) Reconfiguration message to a remote user equipment (UE) device to initiate a path switch from direct communication with the remote UE device to indirect communication through a relay UE device. The relay UE device is an RRC connection state other than RRC Connected (RRC CONN) when the path switch is initiated. The remote UE device transmits an RRC Reconfiguration Complete message to the base station through the relay UE device. In response to receiving the RRC Reconfiguration Complete message, the relay UE performs RRC Connection Establishment with the base station when the relay UE device is in an RRC IDLE state and performs RRC Resume with the base station when the relay UE device is in an RRC INACTIVE state. The relay UE device transmits the RRC Reconfiguration Complete message to the base station.

Abstract: An initial relay user equipment (UE) device transmits a llu radio link failure (RLE) notification to a remote UE device when the Uu communication link from the initial relay UE device to the serving base station fails. The remote UE device refrains from sending signals to the serving base station through the initial relay UE device at least until receiving a Uu link reestablished notification indicating that the Uu communication link has been reestablished. In some situations, the remote UE device identifies a preferred candidate relay UE device after receiving the Uu RLF notification and selects the preferred candidate relay UE device for relay communication in response to receiving a Uu link reestablished notification indicating the Uu communication link could not be reestablished.
