A device is disclosed which is a highly sensitive and selective sensor. The device is comprised of a sensor material secured into a fixed position on substrate, a deformable arm and a signaling component which creates a detectable signal in response to movement of the arm. A high-strength steel pipe rockbolt has an expansive rockbolt main body prepared by processing a high-strength steel sheet of 1.8-2.3 mm in thickness with a tensile strength of 490-640 N/mm2 and an elongation of 20% or more into a welded pipe and roll-forming the welded pipe into a shaped pipe having one or more concavities extending along an axial direction. Thus, it is possible to easily attach/detach the ball joint with respect to the knuckle by combining/removing the ball joint using the first screw thread, formed in an inner circumferential surface of the housing integrally formed with the knuckle, and the second screw thread formed in an external circumferential surface of the thread seat. Also, according to the present invention, the ball joint is not manufactured as a finished product, but provided as kit. Thus, costs, which may incur when manufacturing the ball joint as the finished product, may be saved by assembling the ball joint to the housing integrally formed with the knuckle, and thereby manufacturing costs may be reduced.

Before a transaction takes place between a plurality of agent-based devices (21-29), not all of which have previous experience of each other, a data file is created which identifies all the agents which are to take part in the transaction. The data file is circulated to all the agents, and each agent endorses the data file in respect of each other agent with a positive, negative, or conditional endorsement, based on stored data indicating whether that agent is capable of co-operation with the other agent. A negative endorsement is applied by an agent in respect of any agent with which it is not prepared to co-operate. Such a negative endorsement is fatal to the transaction. A positive endorsement is applied by an agent (21) in respect of any other agent (27) with which it is unconditionally prepared to co-operate. A conditional endorsement by a first agent (21) of a second agent (23) is applied where the first agent (21) has insufficient data to apply either a positive or negative endorsement, and expresses conditions which would allow the endorsement to be made positive—for example positive endorsement by some other specified agent (28). If these conditions are subsequently satisfied, the endorsement is amended to positive. When all agents (29) have endorsed the data file, if all the resulting endorsements are positive a successful validation is reported to the originating agent (20), allowing the transaction to proceed.

A reservoir pump in which liquid supplied from a container in which the pump is installed enters a pressure chamber with respect to which a piston reciprocates in suction and compression strokes. The chamber communicates with a reservoir, (the supply) so that liquid is supplied into the chamber in the suction stroke of the piston and transferred under pressure into the reservoir during the compression stroke. The chamber is open to supply and to the reservoir via one-way valves which open during the suction and compression strokes, respectively. A passage providing an orifice with a cross section much smaller than the cross section of the opening into the chamber, which communicates the chamber with the supply, is open via another one-way valve during the suction stroke. Air enters through the passageway. This air is compressed during the compression stroke. Sufficient compressed air is delivered together with the liquid into the reservoir so as to accumulate sufficient pressure to pressurize the fluid when released from the reservoir for spraying thereby counteracting any build up of remnant liquid in the pressure chamber, which would decrease the volume of air in the chamber on successive strokes and prevent complete discharge of the liquid from the chamber into the reservoir and from the reservoir to allow pressurized liquid to be sprayed.

When a user manually opens/closes the door of the drawer-type heating cooker, a pulse generation means attached to an electric motor generates pulses for counting the number of revolutions. A determination means determines whether the door is opened/closed manually or not on the basis of detection of the pulses. A prediction means predicts whether the manual operation is door opening or door closing in response to the status of position detection switches for detecting the position of the door. A motor control means decides the rotation direction of the electric motor in accordance with the prediction by the prediction means and controls the rotation of the electric motor on the basis of the decision. Hence the burden of door opening/closing operation is alleviated with the help of the driving force of the electric motor even when both hands of the user are occupied.
