In an inkjet apparatus using an inkjet head ejecting multiple types of inks different in viscosity after evaporation of solvent, a replacement timing for a component is judged by using a consumption amount of each type of ink and a generation rate in amount of ink droplets. Accordingly, in the case of using a large amount of ink strongly susceptible to fixed adhesion and increase in viscosity, the component is replaced at an earlier timing, which prevents fixed adhesion from influencing the print performance and the printing apparatus main body. By contrast, in the case of using a large amount of ink less susceptible to fixed adhesion and increase in viscosity, the component is replaced at a later timing and thus can be used until reaching its lifetime.

The present invention is a knock-down design of an outdoor heater. An outdoor heater without resorting to knock-down designs is heavy and bulky. It is costly to ship due to its sheer size and heavy weight. A knock-down design on the other hand resorts to innovative designs in using light weight components with structural reinforcements to increase load bearing capacities thus achieve the same effect as using heavier traditional materials. A knock-down design also resorts to innovative designs in reducing component size so as to occupy a small footprint for ease of packaging and shipment. Consequently, a knock-down design heater can be packaged in a footprint many times smaller than a full size heater and it weights much less than a traditional outdoor heater. It provides cost advantages in pre-sale shipment and general distribution, post-sale transportation convenience as well as ease of relocation during subsequent years of usage.

Active air-fuel ratio control is performed to alternately control an air-fuel ratio in an area located upstream of a catalyst between a lean side and a rich side. Switching is carried out between lean control and rich control at the same time when an output from a post-catalyst sensor reaches a threshold. Whether the catalyst is normal or abnormal is determined based on the rate of a change in the output from the post-catalyst sensor between a first point of time when a pre-catalyst air-fuel ratio reaches stoichiometry after the output from the post-catalyst sensor reaches the threshold and a second point of time when the output from the post-catalyst sensor reaches the threshold next time.

A method and apparatus for monitoring the wear of manual pliers. The principles focus on manual pliers, in which press elements can be pressed onto a workpiece and the degree of pressing that can be achieved by actuating the manual pliers can be adjusted with a presetting device. A reference position of the presetting device is measured prior to a first use of the manual pliers, this measurement involving actuating the manual pliers. By an adjustment of the presetting device, the press elements are brought into a position with a reference degree of pressing. Next, after use, the wear position of the presetting device is measured in the same manner, to bring the press elements into a position with the degree of pressing. A message is output when the degree of the wear position deviates from the degree of the reference position by more than the degree of wear permissible.

Provided in one embodiment is a two-shaft gas turbine that exhibits improved reliability, output power, and efficiency. The turbine operates stably by establishing a balance between the driving force of a compressor and the output power of a high-pressure turbine in the case where the two-shaft gas turbine is applied to a system, in which the flow rate of a fluid flowing into a combustor is higher than a simple cycle gas turbine. A portion of the fluid driving the high-pressure turbine is allowed to flow not into the high-pressure turbine but into a low-pressure turbine.
