Cellulose cyanoacrylate is employed to bond two surfaces, fill voids or duplicate the shape of a three-dimensional object, Two surfaces may be bonded by placing a sheet of cellulose material between the surfaces and applying cyanoacrylate glue around the edge of the sheet until saturated and allowing it to cure. Paper toweling may favorably be employed as the cellulose material. A break or fracture in an article can be overlaid with a sheet of cellulose that when saturated with cyanoacrylate glue and temporarily held in place and shaped with a releasable film, the fracture can be corrected. A dry powder comprising highly abrasion-resistant particles can be mixed with the cellulose material to enhance abrasion resistance and to improve long-term color stability—especially important for dental cavity treatment. To duplicate the shape of a three-dimensional object, a sheet of releasable film is placed over the object, followed by a sheet of cellulose that is then saturated with cyanoacrylate glue. A sheet of releasable film is then placed over the cellulose and used to hold the cellulose in place and shape it as it hardens.

Some embodiments disclosed here provide for a method fragmenting a cataractous lens of a patient's eye using an ultra-short pulsed laser. The method can include determining, within a lens of a patient's eye, a high NA zone where a cone angle of a laser beam with a high numerical aperture is not shadowed by the iris, and a low NA zone radially closer to the iris where the cone angle of the laser beam with a low numerical aperture is not shadowed by the iris. Laser lens fragmentation is accomplished by delivering the laser beam with the high numerical aperture to the high NA zone, and the laser beam with the low numerical aperture to the low NA zone. This can result in a more effective fragmentation of a nucleus of the lens without exposing the retina to radiation above safety standards.

Laser assisted cataract surgery methods and devices utilize one or more treatment laser beams to create a shaped opening in the anterior lens capsule of the eye when performing a capsulorrhexis procedure. A light absorbing agent may be applied to the anterior lens capsule to facilitate laser thermal separation of tissue along a treatment beam path on the lens capsule. Relative or absolute reflectance from the eye, and optionally from a surgical contact lens, may be measured to confirm and optionally quantify the presence of the light absorbing agent, before the treatment beam is applied. Such measurements may be used to determine that sufficient light absorbing agent is present in the lens capsule so that transmission of the treatment beam through the capsule will be below a predetermined threshold deemed safe for the retina and other interior portions of the eye, and may also be used to determine that sufficient light absorbing agent is present to result in complete laser thermal separation of the anterior capsule along the treatment beam path. Visualization patterns produced with one or more target laser beams may be projected onto the lens capsule tissue to aid in the capsulorrhexis procedure. In addition or alternatively, virtual visualization patterns may presented on a display integrated with a laser assisted cataract surgery device to aid in the procedure. The visual axis of the eye may be determined, during surgery for example, with a laser beam on which the patient is fixated. The orientation of a toric IOL may be assessed during or after placement by observing the reflection from the back of the eye of a laser beam on which the patient is fixated. The devices disclosed herein may be attached to or integrated with microscopes.

A method of enhancing the growth of an animal is provided. The method includes causing the animal to ingest or absorb an effective amount of one or more Fe III complex compounds, including but not limited to Fe III complexes comprising ligands bound to the iron center selected from amino acids or α-hydroxy acids, o-hydroxy benzoic acids or pyridine-2-carboxylic acids, such as ferric quinate, ferric tyrosine, ferric DOPA and ferric phenylalanine. Compounds which are structural and/or functional variants, derivatives and/or analogs of the foregoing compounds, as further described herein are also disclosed. Methods for inhibiting, reducing, or preventing biofilm formation or buildup on a surface; the treatment of, inhibition of growth of, and inhibition of colonization by, bacteria, both in biological and non-biological environments; disinfecting surfaces, potentiating the effects of antibiotics and other anti-microbial agents, and increasing the sensitivity of bacteria and other microorganisms, to anti-microbial agents are also provided.

A clip composed of two similar hooks, pivoting around a common axis, and facing each other. Hooks are biased toward each other around the common pivot by a torsion spring. The two hooks form a loop that retains a dog collar D ring. The tips of the hooks overlap each other, allowing each hook to carry half the load. Finger pads are positioned opposite the hooks, such that when pressure is applied to the finger pads, the hooks are separated, and an ejector tab forces the dog collar D ring into the opening between the hooks, releasing the dog collar D ring. This clip is cold temperature tolerant.

A feces collection device for sanitary collection and disposal of fecal matter includes a housing that defines an internal space. An orifice is positioned in a front of the housing. A first grate is positioned in the housing proximate to a back of the housing. A power module and a motor are coupled to the housing and positioned in the internal space. The motor is selectively operationally couplable to the power module. A fan is coupled to the motor and is positioned in the internal space. The motor is positioned to rotate the fan. The fan is configured to pull air and the fecal matter through the orifice into the internal space. The fecal matter is retained in the internal space as the air exits the internal space through the first grate.

A crowding tub apparatus, system and method is described. A crowding tub includes three gates pivotably coupled to a rounded frame, wherein each of the three gates pivot in linked sequence towards an animal exit. A crowding tub includes a first gate coupled to a center post of the frame and rotatable between a first radial side and a second radial side of the frame, the second radial side having an animal exit, wherein the animal exit extends between a door post and a gate post, a second gate rotatably coupled to the second radial side between the gate post and the center post, and a third gate rotatably coupled to the gate post, wherein the three gates are coupled in linked sequence such that rotating the first gate towards the second radial side rotates the second and third gates to obstruct the animal exit.

Robots for autonomous harvesting of hydroponically grown organic matter with different harvesters are disclosed. The autonomous harvesting involves using one or more robots to (1) navigate a hydroponics arrangement or environment to arrive at locations of harvestable organic matter, (2) identify mature organic matter for harvesting from under-ripe or over-ripe organic matter using the robot's sensors, (3) identify the irregular positions and the irregular extraction points at which the mature organic matter is to be correctly harvested using the robot's sensors, (4) harvest the organic matter at the identified positions using the robot harvester, and (5) place the extracted organic matter into a storage bay for delivery to a packaging or shipment station. The harvester includes one or more of a vacuum, gripper, cutting saw, or clipping shears disposed about a distal end of an extendable or mechanical arm mounted atop a lift.
