The hydrophilic membrane is coated with an amine-compatible silicone skin adhesive. In a monolithic design, a release liner is coated with a mixture of CBD and a PIB or amine-compatible silicone skin adhesive laminated to the backing material. In using CBD as a pure compound or as one to combine with other moieties, the invention is able to control delivery better than the prior art. Construction of the transdermal patch of reservoir type is also taught, which enables things such as Vitamin B12 to become part of the complex deliverable by the inventions.

The system and method described herein represent a totally new paradigm for assessing risk in critically ill patients by identifying physiologic patterns associated with a poor outcome. It then uses this information to detect these patterns on future patients, sending alerts to clinicians caring for patients with one or more of them. Moreover, the system and method can be extended to outcomes other than mortality, and can be adapted for use in a specific hospital system's EMR. The “code footprint” for embedding the patterns that indicate a trigger is small and thus favorably suited for embedding into an existing clinical decision support system.

The present invention is directed to a magnetic drinking cup, containing magnetic and metal components. Many cups known in the prior art have screw top lids, which have tight and narrow crevices making the cleaning process cumbersome. If not cleaned immediately after use, it becomes challenging to remove the debris remaining in the cup, and in the crevices of the lid. These crevices create a trap for bacteria and mold. The same issues can arise with reusable straws. There are not many tools on the market that can clean a straw thoroughly from top to bottom. If all contents are not removed from the straw, then it becomes a petri dish of bacteria; and if moisture remains, then mold will have the ability to grow. This invention provides fewer areas where bacteria and mold can flourish due to a magnetic seal instead of a screw top seal.

Aspects of the present invention provide an approach for user authentication during a user session which potentially requires multiple user authentications. A library of authentication methods is provided for preforming the user authentications. For authentication, a threshold contribution value is set which needs to be exceeded for authentication to occur. To carry out the authentication, a chain of authentication methods is constructed at run time, selected from the library in order to provide an aggregate contribution value which exceeds the threshold. During run time, the contribution value of each authentication method is dynamically adjusted, so that construction of the chain uses current amounts for the contribution values of each authentication method. This allows the chain to be reconstructed at run time taking into account changing circumstances. Specifically, not yet executed authentication methods may be unlinked from the chain and replaced with one or more new ones.
