本发明提供一种图像检索设备和图像显示装置及其方法。从多个图像数据中检索包含人脸图像的图像数据，显示该检索到的图像数据，从该显示出的图像数据中抽取出用于图像检索的脸图像数据，作为基准脸图像数据登录。这样，指定已登录的基准脸图像数据内的被特别指定的基准脸图像数据，检索包含该基准脸图像数据的图像数据。
