The invention is characterized in that the signal information is arranged to be transmitted to a receiver location in the form of light which is emitted from the transducer section (1-5) when optically excited charge carriers recombine within a semiconductor material in the transducer section, and that this recombination is arranged to be controlled by electric signals (2-4).
