This invention relates to new heterocyclic compounds having the general formula shown below, and medically allowable salts, hydrates and solvates thereof:
These heterocylclic compounds are effective as antagonists against histamine H 2 receptors. They also show gastric mucus secretion-accelerating activities and are useful as agents for protecting and reinforcing the gastric mucosal surface. The heterocyclic compounds are therefore extremely useful as agents for peptic ulcer.
