Diclosed is a cloned gene encoding tryptophan synthase A and/or B. A recombinant plasmid containing the tryptophan synthase gene, an E. coli transformant transformed with the recombinant plasmid and a process of producing tryptophan synthase by culturing the transformant are also disclosed.
