A method for diagnosing the kind or degree of ovarian diseases or diagnosing whether getting pregnant or not is disclosed, which comprises pressing electrodes (14, 14) against a mucous membrane of a mammalian vagina, detecting the sodium ion concentration of the membrane based on the impedance between the electrodes (14, 14), and diagnosing based on the results of detection or the manner of changes in the sodium ion concentration.
