摘要: The present invention relates to a device (1), which comprises: a needle (2) defining a first passageway (P1) along the longitudinal axis thereof; a handle (3) defining a second passageway (P2) therein which extends along a longitudinal axis of the handle (3) and is in fluid communication with the first passageway (P1), the handle (3) having a first port (10) at its proximal end; and a stylet (4) extending from the first port (10) and through the first and second passageways (P1, P2). The device (1) further comprises: a sealing means (12) configured to seal the second passageway (P2) from the environment outside of the first port (10); and a second port (11) which is in fluid communication with the second passageway (P2) at a location between the sealing means (12) and the first passageway (P1).

摘要: A coaxial introducer cannula for use with a biopsy apparatus. The coaxial introducer cannula comprises a coaxial cannula sized to be coaxially and slidably received over a biopsy needle, and a hub. The hub is fixedly attached to a proximal portion of the coaxial cannula. The hub has a hub body, a latching lever, and a latch. The latch is configured to rotatably engage a catch of the biopsy apparatus. The latching lever extends radially from the hub body relative to a longitudinal axis.

摘要: A non-invasive system for sampling gastrointestinal microbiota with their associated environment for discovery, characterization, medical research, diagnostics, and treatment using an ingestible, non-digestible sampling capsule. The capsule device, with ports open for acquiring a sample of gastrointestinal microbiota and content, is placed inside an immediate or delayed release capsule. When the outer capsule dissolves according to its specifications, enteric fluid and content enters the sampling capsule through the ports triggering a hydrophilic stop to release a pulling force to close the ports by enveloping the capsule outer casing over the inner casing, capturing the sample, and holding it sealed until it completes passage through the digestive track, and is recovered from feces for analysis.
