There is disclosed a dielectric resonator (18; 28) in which a groove (15; 25) is formed in an upper surface (12; 22) of a resonator body (11; 21) adjacent to an outer periphery of a through hole (14; 24) formed through the body (11; 21), and an electrically-conductive film (17; 27) on the inner surface of the groove (15; 25) is electrically connected to an electrically-conductive film (17; 27), formed on the inner peripheral surface of the through hole (14; 24), via an electrically-conductive film (17; 27) formed on a portion of the upper surface (12; 22) of the body lying between the groove (15; 25) and the through hole (14; 24). Thanks to the provision of the groove (15; 25) having the electrically-conductive film (17; 27) formed on its inner surface, the length of the body (11; 21) can be reduced.
