A device (17) to take the writing instrument (11) is sealed in the container aperture and one end of the capillary fluid transport connection (16) opens into the instrument (17) and contacts a writing point (12) or an aperture in the writing instrument (11). The connection to the atmosphere (19) is provided via a line (18) passing through at least one chamber (23; 183).
