The invention concerns a housing (10) designed to accommodate electric-drive units (16, 18, 20), in particular garage-door drive units, and/or the associated drive-control units (24, 26), the housing comprising at least two parts (12, 14). The invention proposes that the housing be fitted with snap-in retention means (34, 52, 68, 110) and guide elements (108, 112) designed to hold the housing parts (12, 14) securely together and to allow functional components (22, 28, 78) and/or circuit boards for control purposes to be snapped in and held in place. This gives a housing with only a few component parts and makes assembly and disassembly easy.
