摘要：
An adjoining waveguide (104) and optical connector (102) is provided. A waveguide (104) including a first end surface (123), a second end surface (124), and an adjoining surface (118) is formed. The adjoining waveguide (104) further includes a core region (108) that extends from the first end surface (123) to the second end surface (124) and a cladding region (105) that surrounds the core region (108). The first end surface (123) and the second end surface (124) of the waveguide (104) exposes a portion of the core region (108) that is used for optical coupling. The joining surface (108) forms an interconnecting surface for another waveguide (106).
