A multimedia optical disk for easily realizing both alternative reproduction control in a parental lock section and interactive reproduction control. The optical disk has a video data storing area and a management information storing area. In the video data storing area, video data (the figure: PGC#1-#7) in which moving picture data, sound data, subsidiary video data, control information for specifying one item of video data as a branch destination in accordance with the interactive operation on the reproducing device side are interleaved. In the management information storing area, group information including group information representing the alternatively reproduced video data of the same group, the level ID of the video data, and branch information for specifying video data to be reproduced next are recorded. When the branch destination belongs to a group, the control information commands the reproducing device that an abitrary one of the video data in the group is the branch destination. Thus, both the alternative production control such as the parental lock, and interactive reproduction control are performed.
