It is possible to apply lime plaster and lime wash paint according to a predetermined time schedule by watering with carbonated water each time before a layer of plaster or paint is applied. A build-up of plaster or paint can be made one day and another build-up the next day if carbonated water is sprayed onto the surface before the application of the new layer. A plaster surface can be painted already the day after it has been finished and paint thicker than normal can be used so that the number of layers of paint can be reduced. When making a brick structure, for example an arch, with the use of lime mortar, the bricks can be watered with carbonated water before being made in contact with the mortar so that the initial hardening will be faster and the final strength will be greater.
