摘要：
The invention relates to an exhaust gas purification apparatus for an internal combustion engine (99), comprising an exhaust gas duct connected to said engine (99), through which the exhaust gas containing NOx passes, and a main catalyst (18) disposed in said exhaust gas duct, in contact with the exhaust gas, wherein said main catalyst (18) chemically adsorbs and retains NOx in the presence of said exhaust gas when said engine (99) operates in a lean operation mode and NOx retained on said main catalyst (18) is reduced to N2 in the presence of said exhaust gas when said engine (99) operates with a rich or stoichiometric air-fuel ratio.
