The invention relates to a device for displaying a video image, comprising at least a source (44, 44') emitting an intensity modulated light bundle (39, 39') and a deflection device (41, 42) to deflect the light bundle (39, 39'). The source (44, 44') emits two independent modulational light bundles (39, 39')in order to conduct angle-proportional line scanning of Np pixels at an angle αp and to carry out angle-proportional scanning of the light bundle (39, 39') of Nz lines of the video image at an angle αz. The first light bundle (39) is modulated with video information to illuminate a scan-controlled first pixel and the second light bundle is modulated with video information to illuminate a second pixel. The video information of the second pixel is staggered by mz lines of an image and mp pixels of a line in relation to the video information of the first pixel, the whole numbers being mz ≤ Nz and mp ≤ Np and mz and/or mp 0. An optical system (40) is provided which groups both light bundles (39, 39') in a common real or virtual point (54) located in front of or inside the deflection devices in the direction of light propagation. Both light bundles (39, 39') diverge on said point at a predetermined angle mz x αz/Nz in the direction of image scanning and mp x αp/Np in the direction of line scanning.
