The invention relates to a control system for window blinds (17, 28) in motor vehicles. Said system contains a control device (23, 71) which receives signals from a switch (41, 42) which is manually operated either by the driver or the passengers, in order to raise or lower the window blind (17, 28) as desired. Signalling means (45, 46, 48, 51) responding to other external events are also provided in order to place the window blind in a state which is best adapted to the related indicated external event, independently from actuation by the driver.
