Said mechanism comprises a crown winding shaft (2), rotatable about its axis (3), that is located on a clockwork movement plane and can be displaced in the direction of the axis. A cog wheel (7, 9) which can be rotated about its axis (8) and displaced in the direction of its axis (8) is positioned at a distance from the crown winding shaft (2). The rotational movement of the cog wheel (7, 9) interacts with the rotational movement of the winding shaft (2) by means of at least one additional cog wheel (4, 5). The axially displaceable cog wheel (7, 9) interacts with the axial displacement capability of the winding shaft (2) using interaction means (20, 25). An interaction element (24) forms an interactive connection between the winding shaft (2) and an additional cog wheel (11) in such a way that said additional cog wheel (11) is pivoted about an axis (8) of a cog wheel (9) that interacts with said additional cog wheel (11), as a result of an axial displacement of the winding shaft (2).
