This invention concerns a method for processing materials such as woven fabrics, non-woven fabrics, yarns, paper, films of any type, and similar materials, comprising a treatment step of the surface of said materials with cold plasma, characterised in that said treatment step is carried out with SF6 or its mixtures. Said method allows to eliminate or at least reduce the use of large quantities of water as well as of polluting and toxic substances harmful to man.
