The invention relates to a method for producing an elongate hollow component (1,13) comprising a laterally protruding bearing component (14). The bearing component (14) is moulded from the hollow component (1,13), in order to produce a type of component (1,13), which is provided with a laterally protruding bearing component (14), in a relatively economical manner. Said component (1, 13) is curved in an upward manner or in a downward manner about an angle of approximately 90° on a point about a horizontal axis (8, 16) intersecting the central longitudinal axis (7,15) of the hollow component (1,13) at an angle of approximately 45°, such that the curved section (9,17) projects in a lateral manner in relation to the longitudinal extension of the remainder of the component (1,13). The lateral projection (10,18) of the curved section (9,17) is then curved after height adjustment in relation to the remainder of the component (1,13) in order to form the bearing component (14).
