There is provided a diimonium salt compound characterized by having the structure of the formula: (1) (wherein each of R1 to R8 is independently a hydrogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted aliphatic hydrocarbon group and each of R9 and R10 is independently a halogenated or nonhalogenated aliphatic hydrocarbon group, provided that the ring A and ring B may further have substituents), and provided a composition characterized by containing the diimonium salt.
