Said arms are supported by supporting arms (6) which are mounted in such a way that they are movable by means of a holding axis (8) in a holding star (3) mounted on the mast (1) and by means of articulated axes (7) arranged on the bearing arms (4). Said umbrella-like laundry drier also comprises a traction rope (11) controlled by the sliding joint (2) and coming from the holding star (5) and an expanding device, wherein said expanding device is provided with the arms (4) or supporting arms (6) storage area in an axial guiding device which is mounted between the mast (1) and a spreading frame (16), wherein said axial guiding and/or guiding device (9, 9') is disposed at an acute angle (10) with respect to the mast (1).
