The invention relates to a device for localizing digital data carriers that are placed in sleeves. Said device comprises a frame (1) housing a first receiving container (2) and a second receiving container (3) for a tape (11), and a stand (4) on which a deflection element (9) is received to be rotated about an axis (10). The tape (11) can be transferred from the first receiving container (2) to the second receiving container (3) and vice versa via the deflection element (9). The tape (10) comprises a plurality of juxtaposed pockets (12) and can preferably be folded in fanfold. The digital data carrier can be placed inside the pockets (12). When the tape is passed over the deflection element (9), the digital data carriers placed in the pockets (12) can be quickly flicked through, which allows to easily localize the desired data carrier in an optimum manner.
