The belt reinforcement layer (35) having a high bending rigidity in the circumferential direction and a fitted belt ply (25) having a higher bending rigidity in the circumferential direction next to the belt reinforcement layer are collected near the neutral axis of bending present near the boundaries thereof by increasing the circumferential bending rigidity of the fitted belt ply (25) disposed fittedly to the belt reinforcement layer (35) more than that of a separating belt ply (24). Thus, the longitudinal spring constant of the pneumatic tire (11) can be reduced and the ground-contact length thereof can be increased by lowering the synthetic circumferential bending rigidity of the belt layer (23) and the belt reinforcement layer (35).
