摘要: A pneumatic tire having a belt reinforcement layer capable of increasing riding comfortableness and steering stability. The belt reinforcement layer (35) having a high bending rigidity in the circumferential direction and a fitted belt ply (25) having a higher bending rigidity in the circumferential direction next to the belt reinforcement layer are collected near the neutral axis of bending present near the boundaries thereof by increasing the circumferential bending rigidity of the fitted belt ply (25) disposed fittedly to the belt reinforcement layer (35) more than that of a separating belt ply (24). Thus, the longitudinal spring constant of the pneumatic tire (11) can be reduced and the ground-contact length thereof can be increased by lowering the synthetic circumferential bending rigidity of the belt layer (23) and the belt reinforcement layer (35).

As a result, the pneumatic tire (10) not only secures the wet braking performance and wear resistance performance on paved roads, but also improves the acceleration performance and braking performance and the steering stability performance on snowy roads.

A crossing belt in which cords (8, 9) intersect each other across an equator surface (E) is formed between adjacent belt layers (5, 6). The belt layer (6) with the greatest width is a folded belt layer having a body section (10) and folded sections (12), and a cord (9) constituting the folded belt layer (6) is an organic fiber cord. Narrow width belt reinforcement layers (14) constructed by coating cords (13) with rubber are arranged at positions directly under width end sections (11) that are continuous to the folded sections (12) of the body section (10) of at least the folded belt layer (6).
