The invention provides a method of producing a mirror under a layer of hydrophilic colloid (8) onto a transparent conducting layer (4) by coating the layer of hydrophilic colloid (8) onto the conductive substrate (4), placing the coated substrate in a plating solution (100), and passing current through the solution (100).
