The invention relates to a device for mixing and homogenising viscous media, said device comprising a cylindrical, horizontally arranged tank (2) containing a mixing element (6) which is rotatably guided inside the tank (2), about the longitudinal axis (4) thereof. The invention is characterised in that a homogeniser (8) is arranged beneath the tank (2), the inlet (8a) of said homogeniser being connected to a lower side of the tank, and the outlet (8b) thereof being connected to a point on the tank (2) located at a distance from the inlet (8a), by means of a pump line (46). Said mixing element (6) comprises a scraping element (44) for scraping the cylindrical inner wall of the tank (2).
